Clarke brings two decades of progressive
leadership experience. Following graduation from
West Point, he was commissioned in the U.S. Army,
Infantry branch where he achieved five years of
consistent promotion and increased responsibility.
Attaining the rank of Captain, Clarke earned Airborne, Ranger, Pathfinder, Jumpmaster, Senior
Parachutist, Expert Infantryman qualifications and was awarded
several U.S. and foreign decorations.
After graduating from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration with an MBA, Clarke advanced steadily through leadership positions in private industry. His sixteen years of business transformation include five major P&L management positions with a focus on e-commerce and media content development and distribution.
Recently joining QVC, International as Vice President, Clarke resides in Tokyo, Japan. He previously held positions with Affinity Media (a $100M technology based services provider to the internet games industry) as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and served concurrently as the President of Affinity’s eCommerce division. Based in Shanghai, People's Republic of China since early 2006 Clarke was the company’s senior representative in Asia. He managed all day to day operations of over 750 full time employees in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and South Korea supporting multiple transaction and content websites including the world’s largest platforms for the trade of virtual items and currencies (conducting world-wide service delivery in seven languages). He also oversaw a 24 hour “Games TV” cable television and internet based joint venture with one of China’s largest media companies. Clarke has led all operational aspects of the acquisition and integration of multiple private companies in the United States and Asia including several within mainland China.
Earlier in his career, Clarke served as COO of American Vantage Media (AVM) – a New York and Los Angeles based independent TV, film and interactive media production and distribution company. He joined AVM when it acquired YaYa Interactive – a Milken funded early leader in the online Advergame industry, where Clarke served as COO and CFO. Prior to YaYa, Clarke held positions as the COO of Omni Computer Products and the General Manager of Guardsmark.
